For DLS, Gisify is the core of the business and the product its customers depend on every day.
Gisify ran entirely on a single on-premises server cluster, and it was out of room. The servers were running past 100% capacity, with no space to take on new customers or larger datasets. Nine separate weak spots meant a single hardware fault could take the whole platform offline — and there was no disaster recovery to fall back on. Several operating systems were reaching end of life.
Keeping it all running was expensive. Hardware refreshes, virtualisation licensing and support contracts added up to more than USD 1 million over three years, just to stand still.
