Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – VSTECS KU, in collaboration with AWS and Ashisuto, successfully hosted the Public Sector AI Nexus Challenge 2026 – AWS AI Bootcamp at Amari Kuala Lumpur, bringing together public sector professionals for an immersive two-day learning experience focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud architecture, and hands-on innovation.
Designed to bridge the gap between AI concepts and practical implementation, the bootcamp empowered participants to explore real-world public sector use cases while learning how to build scalable AI solutions using AWS technologies.
From Ideas to Architecture
The workshop began with an introduction to Kiro, AWS’s agentic AI development environment, followed by sessions on Amazon Q and AI-powered application development. Participants explored how AI-assisted development can transform natural language requirements into structured specifications, implementation plans, code, documentation, and tests through a spec-driven workflow.
A dedicated Thinking Time session encouraged every participant to identify actual business challenges within their organisations and translate those ideas into potential AI use cases before moving into solution design.
Kiro Hands-on Workshop
The highlight of the bootcamp was the Kiro Hands-on Workshop, where attendees worked closely with AWS Solution Architects and technical experts from VSTECS KU and Ashisuto.
Participants were guided through:
- Developing AI solution concepts based on real public sector challenges
- Designing cloud-native architectures using AWS best practices
- Building architecture blueprints with Kiro’s AI-assisted workflow
- Understanding solution design principles before implementation
- Collaborating with technical mentors to validate and refine their ideas
Rather than simply learning about AI, attendees experienced how Kiro accelerates software development by turning business requirements into structured specifications and implementation plans, enabling teams to focus on solving problems instead of starting from scratch.
Learning Through Collaboration
The interactive format encouraged participants to discuss ideas, receive one-to-one technical guidance, and iterate on their proposed architectures throughout the day.
By combining AI-powered development tools with AWS cloud services, attendees gained practical experience in designing solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with public sector digital transformation initiatives.
Driving Public Sector Innovation
The Public Sector AI Nexus Challenge 2026 – AWS AI Bootcamp reflects VSTECS KU’s ongoing commitment to helping organisations adopt emerging technologies through practical learning experiences.
By partnering with AWS, VSTECS KU continues to empower customers and partners with the knowledge and technical capabilities needed to accelerate AI adoption and build innovative cloud solutions for the future.
